On-site accommodation at St Catherine’s College is available at a subsidised rate when symposium registration is purchased as a residential package. The Residential package includes 2 nights accommodation for nights of September 25 and 26.

Should you wish to arrive earlier or stay later, arrangements have been made for delegates to purchase additional nights’ accommodation at St Catherine’s College, enabling ease and convenience for delegates to stay in the same place.

Amenities and facilities

All rooms are single en-suites and serviced daily. Tea and coffee-making facilities, linen, towels and toiletries are provided. Hair dryers, ethernet cables and adaptors can usually be acquired from the Porter’s Lodge. Click here to view a map of the college grounds.

During the evenings, all of residential guests are invited to relax or to continue their discussions in either the Junior Common Room Lounge & Bar (open from 6.00pm) or, weather permitting, outside in the adjoining JCR Cafe Garden (Bar and Lounge open from 6.00pm).

St Catherine’s also offers residential guests an on-site gym and squash courts (access gained via the Porter’s Lodge) and a dedicated ‘email room’ is also available.

Guest rooms have wired and wireless internet access.

Please note that parking across the city is extremely limited and that parking is not generally available to guests at the College. Oxford has excellent public transport links to enable guests to travel into the city without use of a car. Detailed travel information on how to get to Oxford may be found here.

All meals are served in the main Dining Hall. Breakfast is served any time between 07.30 and 09.00am and consists of a buffet of both hot and cold offerings. Dinners are a 3-course meal, served at 07.00pm. Special dietary needs may be catered for if requested in advance during the time of registration.

Check In and Check Out

Check-in is from 2:00pm at the Porter’s Lodge (which is manned 24/7 and is your first port of call for all queries or issues whilst on site – tel. +44 (0)1865 271700).

Check-out is by 10:00am on the day of departure.

Secure luggage storage is available at the Lodge for early arriving and late departing guests.

@kmrpaudel et Al study says wildlife reporting practices create ‘feedback loops’ that may reinforce biases and can further entrench official responses to wildlife crime. My new story for @mongabay
